The seller sent the package of two batteries by regular letter mail, which cost $0.59 The batteries are OK--work well--but arrived too late for use on the trip for which they were bought...and the seller pocketed the nearly- $14.00 change! Well, there's only a couple of things to say about this battery.



-Like others have stated, ALWAYS go with the original or OEM battery, those chinese imitations aren't good, and believe me, by mistake I think I bought one through eBay, and paid the price after a few months, it was dead.



-Thankfully, I've owned 2 Sony cams that have used the same type of battery, and its still kicking...without reviewing pictures, it easily gives me 500+ pictures and with reviewing around 400+ pictures...that's why I have 3 of this, so I could take my time and decided which I want to keep or delete.



-And try to keep them in there little plastic casing so the contacts get as few dust as possible and try to keep them in a place you wouldn't forget.

Unfortunately, this review of this product has to get one star only because of Amazon.com's poor 1-Click Ordering. Granted I don't buy from Amazon.com frequently as I can find the same items from other online websites; however, I decided to purchase this Sony NP-FT1 battery using 1-Click Ordering. Doing this, I was charged the Standard Shipping versus given a choice to select the free Super Saver shipping. I reviewed my options and I couldn't set the shipping settings to select Super Saver shipping. I call Amazon.com's customer service, and unfortunately and expectantly, absolutely nothing can be done for me as my order had been already shipped.

I am amazed at the battery I got for my digital camera. I was skeptical when it was advertised as a Sony battery, however its the same identical battery that came with the camera. And the price was a fraction of the retail price of between $40-50. Even with the shipping it came to about $13. I bought this in December 2007 for less than $10 bucks here and i used them for my sony digital voice recorder. I used the recorder for lectures and other stuff as well as a speech lesson i was taking. I'll say they do take about 4hrs to charge, and it holds the charge pretty well. I think when i started for my voice recorder, they'll hold a charge for a week or so. In terms of using them for back to back 2hr lectures, i think they last for at more than 12hrs of recording. i usually recharge at the end of the school week. I usually recharge them when my recorder shows a single bar or 2 left. They are good batteries, i still have them except i had to buy extra ones last week because i use the old ones for my recorder and remote as well as my TI-83 calculator and i'm getting tired of swtiching batteries between those three items. I plan on buying more when the price drops further. They really are worth it

This NP-FD1 battery is of the same size and capacity as the NP-BD1 battery that came with your Sony digital camera. This means it's slim and takes the same number of shots. The difference is the FD1 is an "InfoLithium" battery (Sony's trademark) and it tells you the approximate remaining minutes on the camera LCD screen. This estimate is not completely accurate, but does give you a rough idea of how much longer you can use your camera before battery runs down. Note that the indicator is number of remaining minutes, not number of shots.



BTW, while generic replacements for the BD1 battery abound (but I don't recommend using a non-OEM LiIon battery for safety reasons), I haven't seen one for the FD1, presumable because this one uses Sony's proprietary time-estimating technology.

I bought this battery from AMAZON.COM to go with my sony digital. The reviews and everything were good so I decided to buy it. It worked for a good month. Now within 10 minutes of use, after fully charging my battery, my camera will say LOW Battery! It didn't even give much usage time to begin with. A fully charged battery only gave out 125 minutes of use; and those minutes seem to cut down so fast after just taking 3-4 pictures. This battery SUCKS! I don't know if it's the battery or the people selling the battery but it is from the Amazon store. I know what's for sure though, I won't be purchasing any more electronics or accessories from here.
