Well you can't beat the price and it was good while it worked. But after using it for about 6 months or so, it has stopped working. The LED light just blinks while you are trying to charge and after charging all day and all night, the battery remains as dead as ever. But for the price and considering the fact that the original Sony charger that my camera came with also died after about a year and half of use, it is the best deal out there. If I can return it for a refund after all this time, I will otherwise I will just get another one.

As soon as I got it, I put the battery to be charged because I was on vacation here in the US. I never saw the light turn on and I tried several outlets since I thought there was no power. Then I left the battery charge (at least I thought) all night and put it back in the camera. The screen began to have this lines all over like a broken TV. Now it is all black but if I want to see the photos I have, I can it is just the mode of taking photos that doesn't work. If I take a photo, it shows all black and a video you can listen what is going on. I am suspicious of this item.

When I'm taking pictures, running out of energy is the worse, so I carry more than one batteries, but recharging with the camera it's just a waste of more precious time, so with this I'm able to charge wile driving and taking pictures wile my extra batteries are still being charged, so I save time and get my pictures, plus, electricity in my country is a bit irregular, so I rather not plug my camera to a wall.

I like the compact lightweight design, the plug folds in for slim storage. I like that it has an indicator light to show when charging is done. It seems to charge in the same amount of time as the original in-camera charger.



For me, an added bonus is the European outlet adapter.

My original charger would not work when I was in Portugal(and it is not working since I came home). I was almost going to buy a Sony charger in Portugal for eighty euros! I decided not to buy it. Although I wish I had more video, I just took a lot more pictures.



Anyway, I was thrilled to find this charger at this price. Even more thrilled to have the European outlet adapter included at that price.

Why didn't I get one of these years ago???? Allows a spare battery to charge while still using the camcorder. Not high speed charger, but probably as fast as the camcorder at charging. A super convenience for not a lot of cash.

Every time we have to move... which is FREQUENTLY (thanks to the Witness Relocation Program) we lose something. This past move was the charger for our Sony DSC-S85 camera. A Sony replacement charger is close to $10,000.00 or so (OK maybe not $10K but it IS expensive) and a no-name "equivalent" from FleaBay gave me the creeps. When I first used the charger, my battery did not charge. The charger was so inexpensive I thought it was just too cheap to work. But I called the distributor and they told me to flip the battery over so that the top of the battery was face down (the arrows would be facing the charger and the leads would still connect) and it worked fine. I was very happy to find that out because the other chargers I saw cost more than 10 times what I paid for this one. Great buy!

I really appreciated the other customer reviews when I was considering purchasing this product. I do not trust my own judgement when it comes to investing in technology, but the other reviews were spot on. This little charger works as well (or better) than my origional sony charger and it came with the euro plug which was extremely convienient. So, So cheap. Go for it!

I recently bought this because I lost my original sony charger in a move. This one is so much cheaper than the ones Sony sells, but it works just the same. It took me a moment to realize that the battery needed to go in "backwards" or the opposite way it sat in my Sony charger.
